production from tube to the clean room in an environment
specially constructed to cater to this industry with

D.I. water system, clean
steam
generated in stainless
steel
boilers and
transported
through
stainless tubing
has, and is,
ensuring

cleanliness and

Manufacturing
United
Industries' purchases stainless steel against very
specific
material standards as
wide coil from very
well known
and
leading
domestic stainless steel producers.
Material is inspected and slit
in-house to assure a
superb
fit. In-house slitting permits a first
stage
inspection of every
surface inch of the material.
Additional
tests for hardness
and suitability are
performed
prior
to the tube
production
process.
Each
coil has its own heat identification to assure absolute
traceability throughout the entire
process.
All
tubing is produced in a continuous in-line cellular
manufacturing process, which allows for instant
correction of any
type of
defect and avoids handling
damage.
Welding
process is by Laser. Dedicated tooling
assures form, fit
and function
of the
tubing.
All
tubing is in-line eddy current tested – operators are
certified
to level 1. Tubing
is marked for
identification.
Tubing
for the bio-pharmaceutical market is steam cleaned,
boroscoped prior to electro-polishing and then
transferred to a
controlled
environment for
electro-polishing.
Tubes are cleaned with
high
purity DI water, nitrogen
treated,
boroscoped and specially
packed.
Final
packaging can be performed in a clean room environment for
the
more stringent
applications within the
bio-pharmaceutical or
semi-conductor markets.
Quality
Visual
comparisons to test specimens ensure consistency of finish
and weld execution. Roughness measurements (Ra) are
taken to ensure
adherence to
the B.P.E.
specification for I.D.
and O.D. surface
condition.
Inspection
by boroscope, including video recording if necessary, are
standard procedures for electro-polished tubing.
